The president of Fortaleza and LFF, Marcelo Paz, says that the idea of slicing up the rights is to increase the revenue potential. Thus, it would repeat the model created by the company Live Mode in Paulista. The consultancy also serves Liga Forte clubs.
Thus, there may be a sale for Open TV, Closed TV and streaming channels. In 2024, the LFF would have home games from 11 teams, which would represent around 55% of the Brazilian Championship.
According to Paz, all 11 clubs in the Series endorsed the idea of slicing the rights. There are already ongoing conversations with media outlets. In fact, LFF had already made a proposal to Globo, which was not responded to, and contacted other broadcasters.
Initially, Live Mode and Liga Forte’s projection was that their rights would hold between 50% and 60% of the total television pie. Libra is on track to reach an agreement with Globo for R$1.3 billion. In other words, Live Mode and LFF would have to seek a similar or higher value.
For Marcelo Paz, it is the market that will give an accurate idea of the value of rights. But clubs, in general, see potential to maximize revenue.
Of the total rights, 20% belong to investors Carlos Gamboa and the General Atlantic fund.
