Argentine Marcelo Gallardo, coach of the first Al-Ittihad Football team, excluded Abdul Rahman Al-Aboud, the midfielder, from his technical calculations for the remainder of the current season’s competitions.
According to Al-Riyadiya’s sources, the Argentine agreed to the player’s departure during the upcoming winter transfer period and be loaned to any team wishing to acquire his services.
Al-Aboud remained outside Al-Ittihad’s accounts at the beginning of the current season by a technical decision from the Portuguese Nuno Santo, the former coach, before he returned to training and participated in the matches after the arrival of Gallardo, the new coach, but that did not last long, as the Argentine excluded him from the last Damak match, as part of The 16th round of the Saudi Roshan League and the Club World Cup, in which the team participated and finally ended, took the final decision to expel him.
According to the same sources, the club’s management will open the file of offers submitted to the player after the next two matches against Al-Nasr and Al-Tai on a regular basis, specifically during the suspension period that extends for a month and a half due to the Saudi national team’s participation in the Asian Cup finals in Qatar. The sources also did not rule out the possibility of resolving the matter between the two parties, if it was confirmed that it would continue before the winter period. In light of this, Al-Riyadiya contacted Rafia Al-Shahrani, Al-Aboud’s agent, to comment on the news, but he did not respond to calls and messages.
It is noteworthy that in October 2022, Al-Ittihad renewed the midfielder’s contract for three seasons, until 2026, during the era of the current administration headed by Anmar Al-Haili.
On the other hand, the management of Al-Ittihad Club Company aims to negotiate with a number of local players during the winter transfer period next January, as explained to Al-Riyadiah by private sources.
The same sources indicated that the management of the Western Club met with Argentine Gallardo to determine the positions it needed, demanding that they sign a number of players in the defense line and full-backs.
She pointed out that the coach’s requests came after 6 players in the defense line were injured: Omar Hawsawi, Ahmed Sharahili, Suwailem Al-Menhali, Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti, Ahmed Bamasoud, and Luis Felipe.
The club’s management is moving to determine the names of the players during the coming period before the start of official negotiations with the clubs.
