Marcelo Bielsa Apologizes for Not Speaking English

Leeds

Manager Leeds United, Marcelo bielsa, apologize if until now you still can’t speak English. He realized that was his biggest drawback as a tactician.

Bielsa is already about to enter his third year in the world of English football by managing Leeds. He managed to bring Leeds to the Championship champion in 2019/2020 and this season he appeared in the Premier League.

Bielsa’s first season at the top of English football was certainly a success. Leeds currently sits in ninth position with 47 points, especially in the last three games they have been able to win over Manchester City and balance Liverpool and Manchester United.

Apart from the success of bringing Leeds to stay in the Premier League for next season, Bielsa also received some criticism. This is because until now the man from Argentina continues to use interpreters in interviews and also while on duty.

“I apologize to those who have to listen to me, that I have not learned English. One of my big shortcomings through traveling in English football is not being able to communicate in the language everyone speaks,” Bielsa said as quoted from Brand.

“My dedication while being a coach is to be able to speak well. That is a core tool that a coach must have, to be able to convey his message through his words,” continued Bielsa, who of course was accompanied by a translator.

“It took me a long time to say something from Spanish to English. That’s the reality of me,” he stressed.

Mauricio Pochettino also had time to use a translator when coach Southampton. As time went by, he could master English.

Pochettino, who is also from Argentina, still speaks English at Paris Saint-Germain. The easiest thing to find when he spoke at a press conference.
