Marcel Merčiak was born on August 31, 1975. As a small child, he played football and hockey with his friends, but he did not see himself as a professional athlete. “That’s when I understood that I can’t stir much water with my left hand,” he said years ago.
However, sports fascinated him, so he immersed himself in the study of various books. Today, many call it a walking encyclopedia. At that time, he wanted to be like the legendary commentator Karol Polák and did everything to make this dream come true.

He studied journalism and joined RTVS shortly after college. There he applied himself as a sports commentator, especially football and hockey broadcasts, he also usually accompanies the audience to biathlon. In addition, he is also a presenter, presenting the show Čo ja viem.
Marcel Merčiak is married and has a son Damian and a daughter Mia with his wife Miriam. The nice brunette is not from the TV industry and they knew each other as teenagers. “She worked in the airline industry as a flight attendant and later in administration. We are classmates from high school, but we didn’t show love there. We got together when she was a year old and I was two years out of college,” the moderator revealed earlier.
