Marc Márquez and Honda extended their successful collaboration by another four years. The six-time MotoGP world champion will remain in the service of the Japanese manufacturer until 2024.

Yamaha submitted and filled the seats in the factory team for 2021 and 2022 early on with Maverick Viñales and Fabio Quartararo, now Honda followed suit: Marc Márquez will remain a Honda factory driver until 2024.

“We are happy to announce that Marc will stay in the Honda family for another four years after the end of the current season,” said HRC President Yoshishige Nomura. “We started the talks a few months ago because both sides wanted to stay together and continue to win.”

«Marc started his career in the premier class in 2013, with him we won six of the last seven MotoGP titles. As a unique champion, he deserves a unique deal. I have a lot of trust in this partnership and wish everyone involved continued success, »added Nomura.

“I am very proud to announce my contract extension with Honda Racing Corporation for the next four years,” said Marc Márquez. «In 2013 Honda gave me the chance to get into the MotoGP class with a factory motorcycle. We have been successful together since the first year and I am very happy to continue to be part of the Honda family. HRC gives me the confidence to expand this partnership, to achieve our common goal and to continue our success story. »

Since his debut in the premier class, the 27-year-old Spaniard has celebrated six world titles, 56 GP victories, 95 podiums and 62 pole positions on the RC213V. In 2020, Marc goes into his eighth MotoGP season with his brother Alex in the Repsol Honda team.
