Spanish rider remembers races in Sepang and Valencia, decisive for the MotoGP title in 2015
Marc Márquez addresses, in the most recent documentary that portrays his career – ‘Marc Márquez: All in’ -, the period of rivalry he lived with Valentino Rossi in MotoGP in 2015, which had the highest moments in the races in Sepang, Malaysia, and in Valencia, Spain. “We met at the track [em Sepang] and I fell. There are people who still say that I threw myself against his motorcycle. ‘He didn’t kick you, he just put his foot out’. He cornered me and gave me no space. As he looked at me, he moved his foot. It was an error on the part of the race’s management”, starts the Spaniard by revealing. Márquez also explains the decision he made in Valencia, when he chose not to risk overtaking Jorge Lorenzo, finishing the race in 2nd place and taking the title from Rossi .
“At the end of the day, a person who did all this to me didn’t deserve to win a title. I had no motivation, what they created and what they made me live during those weeks is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Least of all at 22 years old. They said me: ‘You know that Rossi has a lot of power, he’s going to turn a lot of people against you’. If someone disrespects me, I have character. And balls, even more”, he concludes.
