Marc Marquez admits he’s having trouble MotoGP in the last few seasons. Join Gresini Racing becomes The Baby Alien’s way of finding happiness again.
Marquez made this statement at the Gresini Racing team launch session in Riccione, Italy, Sunday (21/1/2024) early morning WIB. The Spanish rider officially wore a new livery for the 2024 season.
Marquez was introduced in Gresini’s signature light purple and red livery. The 30 year old rider admitted that he was enthusiastic about his new project.
“Of course this is a new chapter, especially in my career. This project is interesting and the motivation is very high, but I also feel very calm,” said Marquez, about his new challenge, reported by Crash.
“I made a very important decision. I chose a path and we will see whether it is good or not in the future, but the plan is to try to rediscover the motivation and racing spirit in the race, and fight for a good position,” explained Marc Marquez.
Marquez, six times MotoGP world champion, has had difficulties since the COVID-19 pandemic. Joining Gresini is considered to be able to make him enthusiastic again.
“I’m like a child in new shoes, as the Spaniards say. I won a lot, but the last 3-4 years have been difficult for me. Having fun again on the bike is the priority, and Gresini is the one waiting for me, ” he explained.
“Let’s have an extraordinary year, but there is a saying ‘if you eat too fast, you will feel bad’. Expectations are high, but I know we have to work tirelessly to do what we can do,” he said happily.
Marquez terminated his contract at Honda to join Gresini, Ducati’s satellite team. Together Gresini Racing, Marc Marquez become a team with his younger brother, Alex Marquez, looking at MotoGP 2024.
