Marc Marquez doesn’t like Mandalika Circuit Turn 2 because… Page all

KOMPAS.com – Mark Marquez (Repsol Honda) expressed his first impression after trying out the Mandalika Circuit.

Marc Marquez for the first time paved at the Mandalika Circuit in the pre-season test session MotoGP 2022, Friday (11/2/2022).

The racer nicknamed The Baby Alien seemed to have not shown his best ability and only finished in 17th place.

Marc Marquez’s time on the first day was 1 minute 33.776 seconds, 1.310 seconds adrift of his team mate, Pol Espargaro, who won the session.

“I didn’t push enough to reach the limit,” said Marquez after completing the first day of testing, quoted from Crash, Saturday (12/2/2022).

Although scattered, Marc Marquez felt himself strong at several points at the Mandalika Circuit which has 17 corners.

“At Turn 1 (T1). I really like it. T3 is also a good sector, as well as T4,” said the Spaniard.

In addition, Marquez admitted that he was uncomfortable when passing T2. There’s a reason why he doesn’t like it.

“T2 I don’t like it because it’s too fast,” said the collector of six MotoGP world titles, laughing.

“There is a bit of a wave in that corner. If you take the risk, maybe you can get a better lap time. However, in this situation, we have to stay calm.”

After completing the first day of testing, Marc Marquez and the other riders returned to the Mandalika Circuit today, Saturday (12/2/2022) to undergo the second day of testing.

The second day series MotoGP pre-season test at the Mandalika Circuit has started at 09.00 local time or 08.00 WIB.

For a while, as of this writing, Marc Marquez is still scattered. He is outside the top 10, 12th to be exact.

Meanwhile, the first position so far is occupied by Red Bull KTM team racer Brad Binder.

The reigning MotoGP champion Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha) is in second place, while Alex Rins (Suzuki Ecstar) is third.

The position of the riders can still change because the second day of the test will continue until 17.00 local time or 16.00 WIB.
