Jakarta

Marc Marquez unravel why all the riders Honda appear ‘dilapidated’ in MotoGP of Malaysia, last weekend. According to him, the Sepang circuit does not correspond to the characteristics of Honda bikes.

Marquez actually performed quite well in qualifying. He was also able to start from third position. When the race took place, however, he was unable to resist the siege of the Ducati riders. As a result, he only finished seventh.

Bad results were also received by other Honda riders such as Pol Espargaro who finished only 14th in the Malaysian MotoGP. Pol started the race from 17th place, which indicated that he had been struggling since the qualifying session.

Marquez admitted that yesterday’s race was very hard and tortuous. That’s why he was quite happy to finish only seventh in the Malaysian MotoGP.

“I have suffered more than in Japan, this circuit requires strength, but it’s not over yet,” he said.

The 29-year-old expects Honda riders to be able to perform better at the Valencia MotoGP later. Although he wasn’t sure he would win, he personally targeted the podium in the closing series.

“Now I hope to take more small steps in the last two weeks in Valencia, as I did after the Buriram MotoGP. I think we (Honda) can do better in Valencia than here,” he said.
