From 15 November the media library will make available to the public various documents relating to the singer Barbara (CDs, DVDs, books). With this theme, Marc-Fabien Bonnard gives voice to those who approached the artist during her gala.
Known for being the lyricist for Dalida, Régine, Mireille Mathieu and Annie Cordy, Marc-Fabien Bonnard also met Barbara in 1965 when she was a journalist.
To the question “what’s the song“, the singer replied: “It’s a conversation. You have to live for it, be permanently in its service.” And he adds: “She didn’t feel like a star. That wasn’t her goal. For her to sing was to breathe. When she started singing her songs, after fifteen years of experience, it was as if it all started again”, specifies Marc-Fabien who, in 1968, performed at the Écluse, in the same show as Marie-Paule Belle and Christine Sèvres.
“I don’t give concerts but dates”, the singer liked to say. “With the tribute song Barbara Lalalalawhich is part of the theme, I wanted to respond to his song My best love story is you. I wrote it with the fervor we had when, faithfully, we attended all his performances “, says the author.
“Christian Loigerot, composer of Céline Dion and Hélène Ségara, wrote the music and it is Louise Perret who interprets it with great modesty and sensitivity”, complete.
Twenty-five years after her death, Barbara is still present in the heritage of French song. You will be able to rediscover it, for more than a month, on the occasion of this precious theme, at the media library.
