Due to the political situation in Venezuela, Marc Anthony made the decision to cancel the concert he was to give on August 27 in Caracas, in total loyalty to the people.

“My dear people of Venezuela. I have been counting the days for our long-awaited reunion after so many years without seeing you. But, due to the current painful situation that your country is going through at this moment, my conscience leads me to cancel my concert on August 27,” the singer expressed on his social networks.

Since Monday, hours after Nicolás Maduro was declared the nation’s president-elect, protests by the opposition have erupted demanding a recount of the votes.

“I hope we can be together again very soon,” he said.

Marc sent blessings to the Venezuelan people, who have risen up in protests against Maduro. “May God bless you today and may peace be with all of Venezuela, I love you!” he said.
