And the company run takes place as usual on a Wednesday evening in May: On the eve of Ascension of Christi.e. on May 17th, the 9th edition will see up to 2000 runners in Eibelstadt expected. For the first time there will also be a separate ranking for the largest and fastest teams from the companies in the region.
The marathon weekend starts on April 22 with the marathon fair in the Congress Center Wuerzburg (CCW), a short breakfast run, the traditional noodle party and the children’s runs in the area of the Ringpark between Röntgenring and Bismarckstrasse.

On Sunday at 9 a.m., one hour later than last year, the Kranenkai will start in several blocks Marathon and Halbmarathon. Nothing has changed on the route: After a loop through the Zellerau, it goes via Dreikronen- and Mergentheimer Straße to Heidingsfeld, on the Konrad Adenauer Bridge across the Main and again along the river bank to a large circuit through the city center.

The marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers can also be completed as a relay with six people, there are about seven kilometers between the individual transition zones. “At the finish, the relay teams can be celebrated together as marathon runners by the public,” says the organizer Gunter Herrmann.
As usual, a 10-kilometer run is also on offer. The starting shot is again at 9.20 a.m.: “Last year this was very well received by the participants because it made them feel more part of the marathon,” explains the marathon spokesman Johannes Büttner.
The registration deadline has now passed, but late registrations are still possible on the marathon weekend itself in the CCW, but with an additional fee.
