Ordinance canceled by Review and immediate release for Carlo Gaetano Orlando, arrested a month ago on charges of having been part of the gang that allegedly threatened, beaten and extorted money from a subject in Marano. The request of the lawyer Luca Gili was accepted by the X Section of the Naples Review Court, which annulled the precautionary custody order ordering Orlando’s release. For the others, however, in recent days there has been confirmation.
The judicial affair

The facts date back to February 2018, when the victim, accused by the clan of having beaten the ex-partner, who later became the woman of one of “them”, was invited with a trick inside a gym in Marano, owned by one of the suspects, where all the arrested were waiting for him, who, without giving him the possibility of replying, brutally attacked him with kicks and punches, ordering him to leave Marano.
Unable to report the beating, for fear of further retaliation, in order to regain his own serenity and that of his loved ones, he was forced to pay compensation in money, “a gift”, to local organized crime. Involved, Carlo Gaetano Orlando, Kamel Rahmani, a Tunisian believed to be the thug of the Orlando clan and owner of the gym where the events would take place, e Ciro Marra (house arrest), better known as Biscotto. The six suspects are accused (in various ways and with the aggravating circumstance of the mafia method) of injuries, private violence and extortion. The Tunisian Kamel Rahmani, recently, had been subjected to the measure of the residence ban also in the context of an investigation into illegal immigration which also involves some municipal employees.
The story of the beating
The victim reported the beating suffered in an interrogation. “A couple of days before Valentine’s Day, the evening after .. she went out to the bar, Kamel called me and asked me if I had beaten Elena and I said no and then told me that the next day I had to meet him outside at the his gym because he had to embassy me. I never thought it could be a trap or that Kamel wanted to beat me up or get beaten up by others or I would never have gone there. I went to the gym also because I had a clear conscience and I knew I hadn’t beaten … The next day I went to the gym and it seemed strange to me that there was no one there because in Kamel’s gym it is always full of people until ten o’clock in the evening. Kamel came to open the door for me and shortly after I saw about ten people coming downstairs. Then I received a punch in the face and from that moment on I didn’t understand anything and I was brutally attacked, I asked the reasons for the attack, but they kept beating me, telling me that if I didn’t leave Marano they would shoot me. At the end of the attack Kamel told me not to go to report and that if I went to the hospital I had to report that I had had an accident with the scooter.
Subsequently, one day he came to my house and Kamel said that in order to be quiet, free and circulate freely in Marano I would have to pay 525 euros to be delivered to him who in turn had to make a gift, in particular a watch, so he told me Kamel to a person whose name I don’t know. Then my uncle advanced the money and Kamel went to collect it at my uncle’s work meal. After about a week Kamel came to my aunt’s house and told me come with me and let’s go to Celestino and Let us go to my gym and when we arrived in front of the gym, Kamel said to Celestino and let us make us “All right” and Cekstino said “yes yes everything alright ”making me understand that I could return to circulate freely for Marano di Napoli. From that moment I have neither met these subjects nor had any more problems, but only after 5-6 months, by chance, while I was returning from Rome, in a petrol pump in Marano I met … with my current partner who threatened me to go away from Marano otherwise he would have shot me. We had a fight and we even hit each other. Then my uncle took me and takes me home. After this time I have not received any more threats, also because 1.011.0 in Rome and I returned to Marano only on Sundays ”.
