Marangoni (Shanghai) 2023 Outstanding Graduates Fashion Show was exhibited during Shanghai Fashion Week. 11 outstanding graduates used rich design language and dynamic avant-garde design attitude to build a show with a total of 33 works under 4 themes. The future time and space journey with the theme of “LIFE3.0” uses the language of fashion to outline a surreal future world. Honorary alumni brand XUNRUO Xunruo’s “Moments & Eternity” 2024 spring and summer series integrates classic design elements into future fashion design. This is where the past, present and future blend and interoperate – continuing the fashion education concept of the past century, focusing on the cultivation of talents in the current fashion industry, looking forward to the possibilities of fashion in the future, and jointly drawing the fashion narrative context of the new era.

This outstanding graduate fashion show was presented by 11 outstanding graduates of Marangoni (Shanghai) in 2023, with the themes of “The past future, The rise of the machines,” “The cyborg” “life biochemical era”, “Conquering space interstellar journey” and four concepts are connected in series to form the overall theme of this graduation show “LIFE3.0”. In this new era trend narrative, the rapid development of artificial intelligence and technology not only promotes the evolution of life forms, but also reshapes future humankind’s understanding of the boundaries between reality and illusion. The show brings an unprecedented visual experience to the audience with its bold mix of surrealism and uninhibited collision of rebellious spirit, and also triggers the audience’s deep thinking about technological development and changes in time and space from fashion performance. With the forward-looking international education and training of Marangoni (Shanghai), the graduates integrate avant-garde social thinking into their works with unique fashion narrative methods, and express their pioneering voices on contemporary social changes and cultural evolution. They are using new creative power to bravely challenge traditional constraints and inject fresh vitality into the fashion chapter from a forward-looking perspective.

The second part of this show is the “Moments & Eternity” 2024 spring and summer series fashion release brought by the honorary alumni brand XUNRUO Xunruo. The independent designer brand XUNRUO Xunruo is a twin designer Chen who graduated from Istituto Marangoni with a master’s degree. Founded in China in 2011 by sisters Dan and Chen Ying, their designs have been released in multiple international fashion weeks. XUNRUO Xunruo’s “Moments & Eternity” 2024 spring and summer series reproduces a sealed culture and glorious history, bringing the glorious golden age of the ancient Pompeii city that was submerged by Mount Vesuvius into the public eye in the form of fashion. This reinterpretation of culture and history, and the reintersection of time and space, have successfully brought the magnificence and multiculturalism of ancient Pompeii civilization back to life in fashion design. The works exhibited in this show are the 2024 spring and summer series of works jointly completed by students from Marangoni (Shanghai) and XUNRUO Xunruo. The public is expected to experience this new series of designs in the 2024 spring and summer fashion market.
