Argentine newspaper “Olé” revealed that Diego Maradona was taken to a hospital in Argentina.
The newspaper said that Maradona had been transferred to the Ibensa Clinic in La Plata, about an hour from Buenos Aires.
Reports said that Maradona, who won the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in 1986 and is widely considered the greatest player of all time, was taken to hospital for tests due to feeling unwell for some time and will remain under observation “for several days”.
Maradona has been hospitalized for stints over recent years, mostly because of the tumultuous lifestyle that followed his career as a player. The former Napoli player was also hospitalized in January 2019 due to suffering from an internal stomach bleeding.
He suffered malaise at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and was filmed by cameras losing consciousness in the VIP space in the stands during Argentina’s match against Nigeria.
