It also works very smartly. All the data that goes into the application Mapy.cz they automatically send from Accident portal, take into account not only the number of events, but also their severity. Thus, only those that can be potentially dangerous for drivers are really displayed.
So the creators try not to overwhelm the user with many notifications. In addition to the pop-up, the route also displays an icon with a death knell logo, as seen in the opening image of this article.
“We try to inform only about those places where it makes sense to take the foot off the gas. Less dangerous places can thus remain without notice,” said Jakub Faifer, product manager of the Mapy.cz service.

Mapy.cz is the first and so far the only navigation that offers such warnings to drivers. People can use this security gadget within mobile applications on platforms with Android and iOS operating systems.
The accident portal currently displays more than 750 places of frequent traffic accidents. It targets not only motorists, but also the state administration and local government, which it motivates to solve them.
“Hundreds of people die on Czech roads every year and damages amounting to tens of billions of crowns occur. The state of Czech roads is not ideal, so I am very happy that, in addition to our efforts to correct specific risky areas, we can also offer motorists a simple tool that will help them prevent potentially dangerous situations on the road,” said Jan Matoušek, executive director of the Czech Office of Insurers, who contributed to the creation of the Accident Portal.
Seznam.cz has been cooperating with the Accident Portal since last year, when this web project started using the map data of the Czech internet number one for displaying the locations of less frequent accidents.
