“In the last 48 hours, forces and means of the Ministry of National Defense, from the Naval Forces, the Land Forces and from other structures acted with field research teams and aerial surveillance devices on an area of more than 80 square kilometers in the areas the towns of Ceatalchioi, Plauru and Chilia Veche in Tulcea county, and in Galați county, on the Romanian bank of the Danube, near the Reni port in Ukraine. Also, the Naval Forces carry out patrol and monitoring missions on the Chilia branch of the Danube with river vessels”, MApN reported. Following the information received on the afternoon of Saturday, September 9, from the representatives of the local public authorities in Ceatalchioi, which signaled the possible existence of drone fragments in a different area than those investigated so far, located approximately 3.5 kilometers west of the Plauru town, the soldiers of the Marine Infantry Regiment executed, on Saturday, September 9, in the second part of the day, and in the morning of Sunday, September 10, research missions in the field, after which the existence of the reported elements was not confirmed”, says the Army.
“MApN forces remain on alert and will continue investigations in the areas of the national territory located in the vicinity of the locations where the Russian forces are carrying out attacks on the Ukrainian port infrastructure on the Danube. The Ministry of National Defense strongly condemns the attacks carried out by the Russian Federation against some objectives and elements of civil infrastructure in the Ukrainian ports on the Danube. These attacks are unjustified and in serious contradiction with the rules of international humanitarian law, being war crimes.
Also, MApN remains in permanent contact with the allied structures, which are informed in real time”, MApN also transmitted.
