MAP. Why is Poitou-Charentes (still) hardly affected by the fuel shortage?

Our region, and more generally all the departments of the Atlantic coast, are (still) spared from this shortage. We explain why.

Of the seven oil refineries in mainland France, there is one that was not affected by the strike movement, the Donges refinery in the Loire-Atlantique. This refinery belongs to the TotalEnergies group. But, unlike the others, the movement is not renewed in Donges. The oil deposits on the Atlantic coast are therefore well supplied. This includes the one in La Rochelle which supplies our service stations.

A sixth refinery on strike. The TotalEnergies refinery in Donges (Loire-Atlantique) join the strike movementannounced ocean print (article for subscribers) and France Bleu Loire Océan on Tuesday. The CGT and the FO want the movement to start Wednesday at 5am. “No drops will leave the site”Fabien Privé Saint-Lanne, secretary of the CGT of this refinery, told the Nantes newspaper. The employees were already on strike at the beginning of the movement. They had planned to attend again on Friday.

Some stock shortages mainly concern Total stations which apply an additional discount to that of the State. They are replenished every two days, but because they offer cheaper prices than the others, they are crowded and sell out regularly. The interactive map that we propose above allows you to know the availability and prices in all stations almost in real time. In this shortage period, many other sites and mobile applications have been developed to avoid being faced with an empty pump (penurie.mon-essence.fr, Fuel Flash or Waze).
