The Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform Ms. Ataka Zaharatou Aboubacar, acting as her counterpart for Labor and Social Protection, chaired on August 20, the opening ceremony of the launch workshop the process of implementing the interactive digital platform for collecting, processing and disseminating data on employment and vocational training. Organized by the National Observatory of Employment and Vocational Training (ONEF) in collaboration with the International Institute for Educational Planning IIPE-UNESCO, Dakar cluster, this workshop aims to draw up a mapping of the actors involved in the production and use of labor market data.
Launching the work, the Acting Minister of Labor and Social Protection indicated that the interactive online platform appeals to several actors with diverse and varied needs. Most of these actors are both producers and consumers of data and analysis. Ms. Ataka Zaharatou Aboubacar recalled that the mapping makes it possible to identify the different actors at all levels.
Indeed, she underlined that the mastery and knowledge of producers and consumers of data on employment and vocational training will ensure the integration of the employment dimension in regional and local planning. This measure, she said, will take into account the promotion of employment at the level of local authorities, encourage local initiatives and promote agricultural entrepreneurship and the development of rural employment.
For his part, the Director General of the National Observatory for Employment and Vocational Training (ONEF), Mr. Oumarou Ibrahima recalled that since the launch of the activities of this Observatory in April 2014, the institution has been harnessed to work and started in March 2020 and its multifaceted support through technical and financial partners including the International Planning Institute (IIEP-UNESCO), are supporting the country in setting up the system.
For Mr. Oumarou Ibrahima, the advent of the interactive digital platform at ONEF, is in harmony with the aspiration of the highest authorities of the country in the context of the search for the well-being of the populations. The CEO of ONEF finally notified that this launch, which is part of the implementation of the interactive digital platform for the collection, processing and analysis of data, must be entered to mark the commitment to search for the expected results of the project.
