The circulation of Covid-19 is progressing again, for this start of the 6th wave, in the metropolis of Lyon, which is back above 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants on March 17, 2021.
That of the Rhône is slightly higher at 531 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. It is among young adults that the virus circulates the most, with 645 cases per 100,000 inhabitants among 20 to 39 year olds. It is for the moment among 0-19 year olds that this circulation is the weakest (410/100,000) despite a rise in cases in the schools of the Lyon academy.
Incidence rate over 500 in 7 out of 9 boroughs
In Lyon, the incidence rate is now above 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in almost all the arrondissements, except the 8th and 9th where it is between 250 and 500.
The municipalities of Caluire-et-Cuire, Collonges-au-Mont-d’Or, Fontaines-Saint-Martin, Fontaines-sur-Saône, Saint-Didier-au-Mont-d’Or, Limonest, Tassin-la-Demi -Moon, Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, Oullins, Chassieu, Neuville-sur-Saône, Dardilly, Marcy-l’Étoile, Francheville are above 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Among the cities where the virus is at a very high level of circulation (more than 1,000 cases per 100,000, i.e. twice the departmental rate): Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d’Or, Couzon-au-Mont-d ‘Or, Cailloux-sur-Fontaines, Sathonay-Village.
More moderate traffic in the inner suburbs
Around Lyon in the inner suburbs, the incidence rates are more moderate, between 250 and 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
These are Écully, Champagne-au-Mont-d’Or, Rillieux-la-Pape, Villeurbanne, Décines-Charpieu, Meyzieu, Jonage, Bron, Saint-Priest, Vénissieux, Feyzin, Corbas, Saint-Genis-Laval , La Mulatière, Saint-Genis-les-Ollières.
Fewer municipalities affected by low circulation of the virus
The number of municipalities affected by a low incidence rate (150 to 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants) are now few in Greater Lyon.
There are Vaulx-en-Velin, Saint-Fons, Saint-Romain-au-Mont-d’Or, Poleymieux-au-Mont-d’Or.
There is no city below 150 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the metropolis of Lyon.
