The number of corona infections in our country has been rising sharply for several days. Since Saturday, we have passed the milestone of an average of 1,000 infections per day. There are contamination clusters in various places in the country. See how your municipality is doing on the map below.

The map shows the number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants per municipality in the previous two weeks: the redder, the more infections registered in the last 14 days. Since the beginning of September, the federal health institute Sciensano no longer distributes figures for the last 7 days, but for the last 14 days. After all, that would provide a more stable picture.
There are already clear clusters, especially in and around Antwerp, Brussels, Liège and in South West Flanders. In the city of Antwerp, there were no fewer than 229 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past 14 days, which is comparable to Brussels (226) and various peripheral municipalities. In Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, the ‘incidence’ in two weeks is now even at 289. These are values well above the European ‘red alarm threshold’ of 120.
