Fortified 15th century castle that belonged to the Scotsman Robert Cunningham. He fought the British at Formigny with Arthur de Richemont, lord of Parthenay, then was made captain of Louis XI’s guard. The spirit of the ghosts of the Franco-Scottish “old alliance” still reigns in the castle (high roofs, keep surmounted by battlements, valuable decorative elements).
