Meteorologists have issued new snow warnings. In several counties there is an orange code, and almost half of the country is under a yellow code. The warnings are valid until tomorrow.
According to ANM, between February 26, 10:00 a.m. and February 27, 3:00 p.m., heavy snowfall and consistent snow cover are expected.
In the Apuseni Mountains, in the north of the Eastern Carpathians and in the related submontane areas, it will snow heavily and a consistent layer of snow will be deposited. Locally and temporarily, the wind will intensify at high altitudes, with gusts of over 70 km/h, there will be blizzards, low visibility and heavy snow, meteorologists say.
Also, in intervalul February 26, 10 a.m.:00 – February 26, 6 p.m.:00 a yellow code of Quantitatively significant snowfall and snow cover.
Vit has snowed quantitatively and a layer of snow will be deposited in the Western Carpathians, the north of the Eastern Carpathians, as well as at altitudes higher than 1700 m in the Southern Carpathians, where there will be intensification of the wind with gusts of over 90…100 km/ h and blizzard.
In Suceava and Neamț counties, snow will prevail and an average of 10…12 cm of snow will fall, according to ANM.
Another yellow code will be valid between February 26, 18:00 and February 27, 15:00. In Banat, Crisana, Maramureș, in most of Transylvania and locally in the northern half of Moldova, it will snow and a layer of snow will be deposited with a thickness of generally between 10 and 20 cm, say the meteorologists.
On the other hand, in the south of the country the weather will be unusually warm, with maximum temperatures of 20 degrees.
