A very special ceremony was held Sunday 9 October in the church of Saint-Pierre de Gacé (Orne), we celebrated the priestly golden jubilee of Christian Father Christarrived in Gacé in 2012.
Ordered in 1972
There were many people in the church of Saint-Pierre de Gacé, the parishioners came from Athis, Alençon, L’Aigle and of course the parishes of the missionary center of the Pays d’Auge: Saint-Godegrand, Saint Peter, Saint-André-en-Auge et Saint-Benoit-en-Augeand also the family of Father Christian, to celebrate these fifty years of life dedicated to the service of God and his brothers and sisters.
It was during a catechism session, I had to be in CM1 or CM2, the priest told me: we need priests, and I got it for me.
That’s how it all started. But first we had to pass the Bac. The father studied a Sees Seminarin 1964, to me ordering in 1972 by Bishop Derouet, and spent a year there seminary des Carmes, in the Paris region to complete his studies theology. It is therefore al Parish of Montsort that Christian served for 15 years, from 1973 to 1988, participating in Catholic action in the working class. Between 1977 and 1978 he also spent a period at the Prado in Lyon. An association that welcomed marginal young people and, with the catechism, reintegrated them to make them men.
In 1988, direction of L’Aigle, for 14 years, before entering At his, for a period of 10 years. Then, coming to acclaimed, for health reasons, and a sabbatical year, in agreement with the Bishop, he renders service to the Christian fraternity with the sick and disabled. Then 2012, at the service of Father Gabriel in the parishes of Saint-André, Saint-Benoît en Auge and Saint Godegrand.
Many messages were sent to Father Christian, during this ceremony, by the parishioners, by his family, each one emphasizing his good humor and his mischievous but so understanding look.
