HUGE OPTIMIZATION PROBLEMS
If you are considering a purchase, so watch out for optimization. Many players complain that they have a problem even with a powerful iron. It looks like the developers will have some work to do on the game’s performance, and not just on the significant framerate drops. Shaders are the biggest problem. Many people can’t even start the game!
Reviews on Steam at the time of writing are mixed. Here are a few of them:
“Bad optimization and a bad port at full price, definitely not in a bad way,” caro72 writes.
“5 fps in the menu and over an hour of shaders loading and I’m at 28%,” adding wowble.
“Well … the game looks very good graphically, but now to the negatives … creating the initial shaders 20 minutes (I downloaded the game faster). as for the actual running of the game ,,, but it’s not good .. even at 100-120FPS, the game feels like it’s running at 50-60 .. but within 20 minutes it managed to crash 2x .. so again paid and we’re waiting maybe they’ll fix it .. It’s an experience!” writes Jacob.
„The Crash Of Us,“ aptly describes Rekki’s situation.
“While playing, the message keeps appearing: Please wait… and the game probably thinks well of you because it’s now unplayable :-D,” writes Gody4ever.
“The first launch was again a struggle with preloading shaders and tuning settings in search of the optimal framerate. Unfortunately, Iron Galaxy also worked on the PC port of this game (it worked on the PC port of Uncharted), so you probably already know how it will be with the tuning of the game. With the RTX 3080, I had to use a crutch in the form of DLSS and I also had to reduce the textures. The game itself can take over 8GB of Vram at the lowest settings, which is quite extreme. Ultra settings can see even 13-16GB Vram. So much for optimization…” informs Mischo.
