many households deprived of the Internet after works on the ring road

Work in progress on the ring road has involved the section of fiber optic ducts supplying Internet speed to Bordeaux and the municipalities on the left bank on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 January

The Internet blackout continues this Wednesday, January 19 for many Free and SFR users on the left bank of Bordeaux. The breakdown began Tuesday in the middle of the afternoon and is due to work on the Bordeaux ring road, indicates the services of the Metropolis. Sheaths containing fiber optic cables were thus accidentally cut.

This Wednesday morning, teams from Bouygues, Free, SFR as well as Inolia, the very high speed network of the Metropolis, were on site to try to solder the optical cables.

If Free and SFR subscribers still share their connection problems on social networks this Wednesday, Bouygues Telecom indicates that it was able to restore the network from this Tuesday evening among its members thanks to a backup system.
