President of the National Association of Oil and Gas Entrepreneurs (Hiswana Migas) DPD III Juan Tarigan assessed that the increase in gas stations sold due to the profits received compared to the obligations that had to be met, in particular from the tax land and buildings (PBB) has made this business not so attractive.
“When compared between the profit and the obligations faced by entrepreneurs, especially the PBB, it’s actually not that attractive,” he said detik comWednesday (4/1/2023).
He said that from an organizational point of view the local government (Pemda) had forwarded the matter. He hopes there will be special treatment for this gas station.
“That’s why, as an organization, we have communicated to the local government that there really is a special treatment in implementing this PBB, because we can expect that every year there will be a reduction,” he explained.
Again, he said, the obligations to be issued by big businessmen, especially by the United Nations. For Jakarta, the amount of PBB for gas stations with an area of 2,000 to 3,000 m2 can reach hundreds of millions.
“Everything is related to the costs that come with, yes, both from the PBB, UMP, UMR and so on, electricity, of course the points are on the PBB. Land and building taxes have to be paid every year, and that’s quite an amount high Let’s imagine in central Jakarta, for example, having an area of 2,000, in the old days was big, having 2,000-3,000 meters was quite big, hundreds of millions,” he explained.
Meanwhile, with pre-measured margins, he said, it would be burdensome for some entrepreneurs. “They’re more changing, maybe transferred to other businesses that might be more interesting,” he said.
