Latest rules related Old Age Guarantee (JHT) become the public spotlight because it can only be disbursed after the age of BPJS Employment participants has reached 56 years. A number of demands to revoke the rules JHT it flows fast.
Karo Humas of the Ministry of Manpower Chairul Fadly said the regulation is a limit for the retirement age. However, according to him, JHT can be taken with a number of conditions.
“So to talk like this, the assumptions in the regulation are for the retirement age limit. Meanwhile, JHT claims can be taken to prepare for retirement provided that they have fulfilled the membership period. So, even if it’s been 10 years, it can be claimed,” said Chairul told reporters on Saturday (12/2/2022).
Chairul said JHT can be disbursed when it has entered the 10-year membership period, which is 30 percent. According to him, this is intended for housing and other purposes.

Member of Commission IX of the PAN faction, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, spoke about this matter. Saleh said he was surprised by this new rule.
“I must say that I am also actually surprised by this newly issued regulation, because in previous meetings with BPJS and the Ministry of Manpower, this has never been mentioned about the material plan for this Permenaker, right. So with the amendment to Permenaker Number 2 of 2022, it is true lead to a change in the JHT payment scheme, which is actually the right of the workers,” Saleh said when contacted, Saturday (12/2/2022).
Saleh considered it reasonable when finally polemics and questions emerged in the public because of the unclear target of the changes to the JHT rules. He said there was uncertainty regarding the change from JHT to Job Loss Insurance (JKP) for workers who lost their jobs.
“Now workers are protesting against the policy because it is thought that they will lose their job later, for example, and then they don’t have enough funds. They should be able to take JHT, right there is JKP, to what extent is JKP able to replace the JHT function,” he said.
“This should not be like that, especially the money that was regulated earlier, the use and storage of which is regulated by the government unilaterally by the government and BPJS, it’s their money (workers), so this should involve them. I don’t know if when making the rules the workers are invited and their input is heard or not or the union is like that. If they are not invited, it’s a pity for them, the money is used like that, it is used that way and there is no explanation and the rules have been issued. This is very detrimental to the existing system, “he explained.
On this basis, the chairman of the PAN faction of the DPR RI asked the government to open a discussion room to the public by involving workers. If later it turns out to be detrimental, he asked the government, in this case the Ministry of Manpower, to revoke the Manpower Regulation.
