Both incidents on the Zwolle-Leeuwarden route occurred almost simultaneously, around 9.15pm. It is not yet clear what exactly happened, but the consequences for travelers were considerable.
No trains ran between Zwolle and Meppel for an hour and a half. The incident with the vandalism was solved a little earlier. The trains were running according to the normal schedule again around 22:00.
