Significantly fewer new corona infections and relaxed test obligations are reasons for the dismantling of corona test centers. In addition, the remuneration for the tests has been reduced.
In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania the incidence continues to fall and the obligation to test has been lifted in many areas of public life. As a consequence, many test centers are already closing again. The test capacities are being reduced in all counties, as demand is very low or is completely absent. The rush of holiday guests is also absent in many places.

Many guests arrive with a test
Most holidaymakers arrive from their home region with a test. There have already been changes in the imperial baths on Usedom. 21 test centers were planned in the Heringsdorf community. All but six have been dismantled, said spa director Thomas Heilmann. These six are used for arriving holidaymakers and for visitors traveling to Poland. The municipal test center in the Baltic Sea resort of Sellin on Rügen has been closed, but the DRK continues to test.
Remuneration will be significantly reduced
The situation is very different from region to region: While there is still a high demand from the local authority in Kühlungsborn, for example, the private operator “Bürgertest Rostock” will close almost half of its centers soon. The remuneration for the corona tests also plays a role there: As of this week, private operators are only allowed to charge eight euros per test. Before it was twelve euros.
The Federal Minister of Health said on NDR Info that Germany had not taken such scenarios seriously enough. More corona news in the live ticker. more

Closures and limited opening times
The offer is also being thinned out in Western Pomerania: In Stralsund, the test center in the town hall cellar was shut down at the weekend. The test center on Rügen dam is also due to close on Wednesday. In Greifswald-Wieck, too, tests are only carried out until the middle of the week due to the low demand. The test offer in Lubmin, on the other hand, will remain in effect until further notice – however, opening times will be restricted there from July 2nd.
