It’s not as if Brexit comes overnight. Nevertheless, some companies apparently failed to make appropriate preparations. This is the result of a current Yougov survey.

It was not only clear to experts that it would be difficult to negotiate an agreement between the European Union (EU) and Great Britain. It therefore comes as no surprise that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently said in his typically blatant manner that he anticipates a no-deal scenario and has little hope of an agreement.
Brexit theater comes to an end
Great Britain will then start an EU-free New Year in 2021 without a trade agreement and will no longer be part of the EU internal market or the customs union. The Brexit negotiations had drawn out as a never-ending story since 2017 and, from the point of view of many politicians, really developed into theater, which Boris Johnson ultimately crowned with his antics.
And although years have passed before Great Britain actually leaves the European Union, many companies are still not properly prepared for this, shows a Yougov survey, for which around 1,100 British and 250 German, Italian, French and Spanish company decision-makers from September 23 to October 2, 2020.
German government has prepared companies well for Brexit
23 percent of German corporate decision-makers state that they do not feel prepared for Brexit. At the European level, 22 percent experience their current situation as well. The UK has the highest figure at 31 percent.
In contrast, the German decision-makers most frequently (36 percent) state that their government has prepared companies well or adequately for the impending consequences of Brexit. Among the British, a third (32 percent) say this, among the French and Spanish, 29 percent of company decision-makers each express this opinion, in Italy a quarter (25 percent).
