The Twitter universe is buzzing with discussions about the age of 40 to own a house, starting with a tweet from Ligwina Hananto, a Lead Financial Trainer from QM Financial. The question is, can you have a house at the age of 40?
He also explained the meaning of his statement which attracted the attention of netizens. He explained, what is important to be able to own a house at the age of 40 is to have power.
“It is important to have power. When empowered, you will have self-motivation to try, money later. Of course, this means that the narrative of having a house before the age of 40 is for empowered people,” he told detik.com, Saturday (19/6/2021).
The standard of age is 40 to own a house, he continued, solely because of financial calculations, where home ownership loans (KPR) usually have a term of 10-15 years and retire at the age of 55.
“Buying a house, of course, needs to be done when you can afford it. You don’t want to rush it’s okay. But don’t be complacent until you don’t buy it and retire without a proper place to live,” he said.
Ligwina explained that those with limited finances could buy a house by joint venture with their family. Later the house was occupied together.
“When it’s really hard to buy residential property because it’s expensive and income is limited, maybe it’s time to think about this effort being done communally. Save with brothers, sisters, parents, buy it together. Ownership and placement together,” he said.
