In the month of analysis, manufacturing exports reached US$875.7 million, while a year ago they totaled US$830.8 million.
According to the figures reported by DANE, this amount exceeds the value exported in the same month of 2019, pre-pandemic, when they totaled US$800.3 million, and is even the highest value for the month of October in 10 years.
Growth is also recorded in the volume exported. In the tenth month of the year, the tons exported were 294,105, which represents 14.5% more than in October 2022 (when they reached 256,784 tons).
The greatest positive variations were recorded in exports of machinery for different uses, which grew 75.1% compared to October 2022; those of road vehicles that increased 43.2%; external sales of organic chemical products, with a variation of 32%; those of pharmaceutical industry products, with an increase of 22.8%; footwear, which grew 10.8%; exports of plastics (in primary and non-primary forms) which increased by 8.4% and those of paper and cardboard, with 4.2%, among others.
