Manufacturers announce Intel Z490 motherboards – Computer – News

Following the announcement of Intel’s tenth-generation Core CPUs, manufacturers are coming out with their Z490 motherboards. ASRock, Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte and MSI, among others, are releasing new motherboards with the LGA 1200 socket.

The Z490motherboards come with an LGA 1200 socket, which is intended for the upcoming Comet Lake S CPUs. These CPUs are produced on a 14nm process and will appear in stores later. Exactly when this will happen has not yet been officially announced at the time of writing. Intel also comes with the H470-, B460– and H410chip sets. Motherboards with these chipsets will be cheaper, but among other things, users provide the option to overclock the CPU.

Gigabyte brings multiple motherboards in the Aorus series. These motherboards use larger ones, according to the manufacturer heatsinks and twelve- or sixteen-phase power supplies. The company also releases a Z490 motherboard with an integrated waterblock. The manufacturer also comes with a mini-itx-Z490 motherboard in the Aorus series.

Interestingly, Gigabyte states that some of its motherboards support pci-e 4.0, while the Comet Lake chips don’t support this standard. VideoCardz writes that the manufacturer confirms in a live stream that the Z490 motherboards will also work with Intel’s upcoming Rocket Lake-S processors, which offer pci-e 4.0. Some other manufacturers also report pci-e 4.0 support.

ASRock also comes with various LGA 1200 motherboardsincluding the high end Taichi with support for pci-e 4.0 and 2.5 gigabit ethernet. That motherboard also supports three m2 SSDs, and comes with a WiFi 6 adapter. The manufacturer also comes with a micro-atx motherboard and two mini-itx models.

Also, ASRock mentions more affordable Z490 motherboards in the Phantom Gaming series, including the Phantom Gaming 4SR. That motherboard is interesting because it uses the ATX12VO standard, so it doesn’t have a 24-pin power connector, but a 10-pin plug. The manufacturer also introduces some motherboards with H470, B460 and H410 chipsets.

The line-up of Asus consists of several Maximus XII models, like the Hero, Formula, Extreme and Apex. The manufacturer also releases different Strix motherboards in different form factors. This is how the company comes with the Strix Z490-I with a mini-itx format. The TUF series gets two models in the form of TUF Gaming Z490-Plus and the Z490-Plus Wi-Fi.

New is the Asus ProArt series, which is intended for creative professionals. The Z490 Creator 10G comes with two Thunderbolt 3 connectors and 10 gigabit ethernet. Asus does not clarify which pci-e standard is used for the motherboards. Asus also comes with multiple new Prime motherboards.

EVGA comes with two new motherboards: the Z490 Dark and Z490 FTW. Of these, the former variant is mainly intended for overclockers, with a modified PCB design and two memory-dimm slots instead of the usual four. The Z490 Dark also has an 18-phase power supply. The motherboard also contains two displays on which, for example, the CPU temperature can be displayed.

The Z490 FTW is a more common atx motherboard with standard layout and four dimming slots. The FTW has a 14-phase power design and built-in LEDs in the heatsink. Both EVGA motherboards also support WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.

MSI comes with eight new Z490 motherboards for different price ranges. The high end Z490 Godlike is an e-atx motherboard with an oled screen next to the ddr4 dimm slots. The motherboard has a 10GbE network connection and a Thunderbolt 3 port. The Z490 Ace and Z490 Gaming Carbon both are ATX motherboards with support for 2.5 gigabit ethernet. The Gaming Carbon also supports WiFi 6 thanks to an included adapter.

The company also comes with a new one Tomahawkmotherboard. This model comes with a 2.5GbE network connection and a 1GbE connector. The company also mentions some B460 motherboards, including a Tomahawk, Mortar and Bazooka. All three offer a VRM design with 12 + 1 + 1 phases.
