After several sold-out performances in Vienna, Passau, Linz and Munich, the two audience favorites Manuel Rubey (known from the film “FALCO” and the series “Braunschlag”) and Simon Schwarz (known from the “Eberhofer crime novels”) will now be appearing on November 5th. 2024 with her cabaret program “The Restaurant” in the Stadtsaal Burghausen.
Manuel Rubey and Simon Schwarz have four left hands together. At least. Nevertheless, the two friends think it’s a great idea to open a restaurant. Simon has already played a chef in a film and Manuel likes to drink wine. That should be enough for expertise, they think. The posh restaurant in the middle of the province is supposed to put everything that has ever existed before in the shade. Seen in light, it looks more like a candidate for “botched construction.” When the restaurant burns down, there is a strong smell of arson. At least for the village police officer who uses the investigations with the acting stars to get started with her podcast.
The search for the fire devil leads Manuel Rubey and Simon Schwarz back into the past, into their innermost being and to essential questions such as: Aren’t we all little arsonists in some way? In our friendships? At work? In the relationship?
For the policewoman the case is clear anyway: it was Rubey who warmly demolished the hut.
Because the murderers are perhaps always the gardeners, but the arsonists are always the Viennese. *
