When asked about his alleged claim of 20 million euros per year plus a five-year contract, Neuer said: “It is completely clear to me that it is utopian to nail the club to a five-year contract that is supposed to be in the room. At 34, I can I don’t see how I will be at 39 years old, so this finality, which was publicly suggested, makes no sense at all. “
Instead, he wants a contract “in which Bayern and I have a win-win situation that everyone is happy with. I want to do my best, be there for the team and do everything we can to ensure that we have maximum success – with 100 percent passion. The prerequisites have to be right, that’s what it’s about. “
The 34-year-old also commented on the signing of his soon-to-be competitor in the goalkeeper position, Alexander Nübel, who is due to join Munich in the summer. “He is a good goalkeeper, no question. I understand the transfer in perspective, although we already have a strong number 2 with Sven Ulreich,” Neuer was unable to resist at least a small tip.
