Manuel Neuer is on vacation after the EM-Aus. But he doesn’t leave his home country for this – the goalkeeper organizes a bike tour through Bavaria.
Tegernsee – You don’t always have to travel far to go on vacation. Manuel Neuer shows his fans on Instagram that it works just as well in Bavaria. After the European Championship with the national team ended prematurely, he allowed himself a few days off at home.

Just put your feet up? Not with Neuer. Instead, he runs his own bike tour and takes his followers on the trip. The self-proclaimed “Tour de Bavaria” has the destination Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The starting point is probably his villa on Lake Tegernsee. “I’m going to drive a bit along the German Alpine Road. I’ll take you with me and show you how nice it is here at home, ”announces the native of Gelsenkirchen. No sooner said than done: The following are impressions of the route, which leads in its entire length from Königssee to Lindau on Lake Constance.

Apparently he was particularly fond of one place: the Sylvenstein reservoir on the border between Bavaria and the Austrian Tyrol. “You have to stop here for a moment,” writes the captain of FC Bayern and the national team and enthuses: “It’s really nice here, very little going on”.

Finally he arrived in Garmisch-Partenkirchen – from Tegernsee that’s about 73 kilometers and at least 540 meters in altitude. After work, he cools his legs in a river and is proud of his tour. “Done!” He reports in his Instagram story.

Like many other EM players, Neuer is not present at the official start of training for FC Bayern. His former teammate David Alaba is having a good time with Elyas M’Barek in the Balearic Islands. The new FCB coach Julian Nagelsmann has to deal with it: He gave his first press conference on Säbener Straße on Wednesday. (epp)
