Manuel Jose, former coach of Al-Ahly club, spoke about Al-Ahly’s chances in the Club World Cup, to be held in Doha from February 4 to 11 of the same month.
Jose said in televised statements for the Ontime Stadium program, on On Time Sports, with Schubert, that his memories with Al-Ahly in the tournament were good in the World Cup clubs and he benefited from great experiences.
And the former coach of Al-Ahly added: “In my first participation as a coach for Al-Ahly in the World Cup, we did not achieve good results. The participation was disastrous in the sense of the word because the players were not psychologically and technically qualified to participate, but the second time we achieved good results and achieved bronze.”
And Jose continued: “I did not believe until now that we achieved third place among world clubs in 2006, and I do not follow the quality of the Al-Ahly team now, but as long as they win the African Championship, it is natural that he has distinguished elements and strong chances to participate.”
Al-Ahly’s coach revealed that the Al-Ahly team can win at least in its first match in the Clubs World Cup this season, explaining that facing Al-Duhail is a strong opportunity for Al-Ahly players, since the Qatari team has foreign players, but its experiences qualify it to win.
He continued: “Al-Ahly’s chances increase with each participation in the FIFA World Cup because they gain the necessary expertise to compete, and I do not like to compare the current generation of the team with the generation that I was coaching.
Al-Ahly is participating in the Club World Cup for the sixth time, representing the continent of Africa, after winning the CAF Champions League for the ninth time.
Al-Ahly won the third place and won the bronze medal in the Club World Cup, and the team seeks to achieve the ambitions and aspirations of the fans in the tournament that will be held next February in Qatar.
