Ramon Zenhäusern is the best Swiss sixth in the first of two slaloms. The Austrian Manuel Feller celebrates his first victory in the World Cup.
For Zenhäuser it was the second best result this winter after his victory at the start in Alta Badia. Luca Aerni also delivered a convincing performance. With the starting number 43, the Bernese made 8th place and thus made it back to the top 30 on the start list. The last time Aerni was classified in a World Cup slalom was three years ago.
Tanguy Nef and Loïc Meillard also contributed to a good Swiss team result with ranks 10 and 11. Sandro Simonet, who was eighth after the first run, fell back to 21st place after a time-consuming mistake.
The fifth slalom of the winter had started very badly from a Swiss point of view. Daniel Yule, who started with the number 1, was eliminated after just a few goals.
Feller’s victory premiere had emerged. The Tyrolean had already finished second in the slaloms in Alta Badia and Zagreb this winter. Feller took over the lead in the discipline classification from team-mate Marco Schwarz. The Carinthian came third in Flachau behind the leading Frenchman Clément Noël after the first run.
