Manuel Feller can understand the expulsion from the ÖSV national team

Radstadt – During the last winter, ÖSV sports director Toni Giger said that things were going to get rough. So it happened. He compiled a new catalog of criteria, which included the guidelines for potential senior management. It was said: you have to be in the top 10, otherwise you easily fly out of the red-white-red national team.

Now the man from Salzburg swung the scepter and announced the squad for the upcoming World Cup season. With Christian Hirschbühl, Roland Leitinger, Michael Matt, Matthias Mayer, Hannes Reichelt, Marco Schwarz and Vincent Kriechmayr, only seven men met the criteria.

Max Franz and Manuel Feller, who was handicapped by a herniated disc, are no longer there. For women, 13 athletes are part of Christian Mitter’s squad. The weaker senior squad, however, includes Katharina Gallhuber, Mirjam Puchner, Eva-Maria Brem and Tamara Tippler.

Manuel Feller can understand the resignation from the national team

Fieberbrunn – If you look at the ÖSV national squad for the upcoming World Cup season 2020/21 in the Alps, you will quickly see that Tyrolean Manuel Feller and Carinthian Max Franz are two well-known names. Both were downgraded to the A squad. Feller had no problems with the decision of the ÖSV sports director Toni Giger and even showed understanding for this decision. You have to be in the best discipline among the top ten in the world to get a right to exist in the national team.

Feller doesn’t want his fans to be worried. He had to struggle with the intervertebral discs last winter, was badly affected by health and was therefore not always fully fit. Still, he doesn’t give up; even more: it is in his own hands to get back into the national team. The Tyrolean also lost its sponsor. Feller sees the donor as a privilege and in no way as a right. He also took the opportunity to thank Saalbach for three years with ups and downs.
