On a Sunday morning, the Mantel children’s mental journey went to Palestine, this year’s World Day of Prayer country.

Together with team members Letizia Riedel, Katrin Wiesner, Andrea Magerl and Jutta Lippik, the children learned a lot about the living conditions of the people, especially the children there. “Salam” – peace be with you – was the greeting that lasted throughout the morning.

Through games and short stories together, the children learned how important it is to make up after arguments, to listen to one another or to approach one another. This can strengthen friendships or create new ones.

An external symbol of friendship can be a self-made friendship bracelet. The children were allowed to weave these together with the children’s church service workers – and thus also take home a “peace ribbon” for themselves, friends and family.

The finale was a shared meal of typical country snacks and prayer with Pastor Andreas Ruhs, who blessed all participants.
