Mansoor, Taliban leader killed by US forces, has a life insurance policy in Pakistan

Islamabad: Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour, who was killed in a US drone strike, has reportedly had a fake life insurance policy in Pakistan. He had also deposited Rs 3 lakh before he was killed. The revelation was made during the trial of a terrorist fund case against him.

Mansour was killed in a US drone strike on May 21, 2016. The announcement was made by then-US President Barack Obama.

The insurance company provided information about the policy in the anti-terrorism court in Karachi. According to the report, he had taken out an insurance policy using a forged document. Mansoor owned assets worth $ 32 million, including a house and land in Karachi.

The insurance company asked the court to pay the amount in Mansoor’s name to the government. The decision was made to include the proceeds from the auction of Mansoor’s assets. A court has issued warrants against two revenue officers in connection with his land acquisition in Karachi.
