Young promising singer, Man’s Tahiti recently revealed with his group the title “My Fenua”. A gentle song that sounds like a tribute to Polynesia. Passionate about a well-chosen artistic path, Man’s Tahiti also reveals a sensitive and creative personality. “It has always been my passion. I would like to make it my vocation, my profession. I have been singing professionally for a few years, 4-5 years. There, these are my very first steps as a songwriter ”.
This song is part of the 4 tracks of his first EP which was produced under very specific conditions. Faced with travel constraints due to the covid-19 pandemic, the album was made from a distance. The lyrics were recorded in the studio over a period of 15 days and the two musicians of the DMN group, Nolan and Dylan, were responsible for composing the instrumental part in metropolitan France. A real challenge.
The singer is enriched by different cultures and musical styles by singing as well in French, English but also in Tahitian. With his group DMN, he explores an eclectic universe. On their track Hands Up, the band also collaborated with a well-known local DJ in Polynesia, Tommy Driker. “The DMN group is influenced by all styles of music. Reggaeton, pop, hip-hop, trap also in “Hands Up” and rock, the ride… These are all my influences, all the influences of the two members of my group ”
A complete artist
Man’s Tahiti was revealed in 2018. Finalist of the Grand casting, he left for France for the auditions of the Voice show. Vocal coaching and meetings with other singers are on the agenda, an experience that further concretizes his dream of embarking on an artistic career.
Singer, composer but also dancer and choreographer, Man’s Tahiti is what one might call a complete artist. He thus sought the advice of dancers and performers to prepare his productions. “Dance is an integral part of my artistic life and I try to surround myself with other artists to be able to have this creative energy. […]. I choreograph my own dances. For the one which is associated with the title “Hands Up” […], I contacted some very talented dancers […]. Together I hope we can create a great project ”.
While waiting for the next scenes, the artist is preparing the video clips of two titles from the group’s EP. “The first clip is in progress, it’s that of“ Hands Up ”. There, there is still a lot of preparation work to do in terms of dances, choreographies, costume creation… And also find the places where I could shoot the clip. […] according to what we can do and according to the evolution of the health crisis ”. “To finish sharing this album, I would also like to make the clip for” My Fenua “because it is part of a progression of the lyrics that I wrote”.
Indeed, Man’s Tahiti confides that if the title “Hands Up” evokes painful moments in his life, “My Fenua” introduces a cure and a form of appeasement. “By writing my own songs, I became a little vulnerable because I share personal things and you have to know how to assume them in front of an audience”.
