“What we really had to learn is to talk things out”, says Meijers. “At my house, we used to have great discussions at the table and everything was talked to the bottom. Meeuwis says that he has unlearned those traits thanks to Meijers. “I used to hope that it would blow over, but now I know that you just have to start such a conversation”, says the singer, who has been in a relationship with Meijers since 2016.
“So we crackle now and then”, continues Meijers. “I think that’s only healthy. It doesn’t diminish our love either.” Meeuwis: “No, because it is unconditional.”
Meeuwis and Meijers were to tie the knot last summer, but due to the corona crisis, the wedding plans have been postponed by a year. Meeuwis has four children from a previous relationship with his ex-wife Valérie Gregoire.
