The chairman of the civic platform “Stand Up.BG!” Will register his political party. Maya Manolova on May 1, learned “24 hours”.
The party will bear the name of the civic platform that Manolova set up at the end of 2019. The former ombudswoman is expected to officially announce the formation in the coming days.
“We are making a party because nothing of what has been announced so far is happening,” a 24 Chasa source said.
As “24 Chasa” wrote, a political project is being prepared by the former caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev. It is unofficially said that his formation will be established on April 16, although according to the former head of his cabinet and his right-hand man Ralitsa Simeonova, the political project was still at the stage of reviewing like-minded people.
Manolova and Stefan Yanev have already held talks, say sources of “24 hours”, but they were more for ideas than for unification. This could be said only when the former caretaker Prime Minister announced his formation, as well as where it will be positioned – left, right, center, etc. And whether the ideas of the two parties on social policy, the fight against poverty and inequality will coincide. In addition, it remains to be seen what kind of people will stand behind him, Manolova’s team is adamant.
The former ombudswoman and her civil society organization “Stand up. BG! ” will also participate in the creation of a new social platform. Its goal will be to unite non-governmental and civil organizations, celebrities, as well as to bring together most left-wing formations. It has also not yet been officially announced. Only when it is established will a chairman be elected. Strahil Deliiski, a political scientist and lecturer at Sofia University, or Konstantin Prodanov, the former leader of the ABC, cite this as such. However, there was an idea that the chairman of the platform would be on a rotating basis, and if accepted, both could be elected.
