The Mannheim Tornados celebrate a clear victory in the first game this weekend against the Mainz Athletics. In the end, the hosts leave the Roberto Roberto-Clemente field with 11: 1 after six innings played as the winner.
It was also the Palatinate who took the 1-0 lead in the third inning. One inning later, the tornadoes extended this to 2-0 after a solo home run by Merlin Bendlin. The guests from Rheinhessen managed their first run a half-inning later. After the RBI single from Jerome Noso, it looked like the expected exciting game.
The hosts immediately dispelled this expectation. After a 7-run rally in the lower part of the fifth round, the hosts pulled away to 9: 1. Juan Martin from Mannheim provided the highlight with a 3-run home run. In the sixth round, the hosts followed up again. Marvin Kulinna made another home run, this time a 2-run homer, for the 11: 1 final result. The encounter must be abandoned after this inning due to the onset of rain (if the game is fully valued).
Cerilo Soleana from Mannheim secures the duel of the pitcher with a strong performance. In five innings Soleana is responsible for five hits, one run with six strikeouts. Yannic Wildenhain from Mainz (4.2 IP, 8 h, 9R, 2 BB, 3 K) collects the loss.
