Mannheim beats Iserlohn – Munich celebrates the highest DEL home win

While front runners Mannheim had to go into overtime in the 2: 1 (0: 0, 1: 1, 0: 0, 1: 0) against Iserlohn Roosters, the Munich team succeeded at 9: 2 (4: 1, 0: 0, 5 : 1) against the Krefeld Pinguine the highest DEL home win in their club history.

In the spectacular duel with completely overwhelmed Krefeldern, who conceded their sixth bankruptcy in a row, the hosts only got really serious in the first and last third – that was enough for a goal show. The team from the Bavarian capital is now well behind the eagles with 52 points.

2.3 seconds before the end of overtime, defender Joonas Lehtivuori scored the winning goal for Mannheim with a wrist shot, the eight-time German champion now has 66 points thanks to his 23rd win of the season in the 28th game. Iserlohn (42) remains third in the north on a play-off spot.

DEL: North leader Berlin continues on the road to success

In the north, the balance of power at the top is as clear as in the south: After the Eisbären Berlin’s 3: 1 (1: 0, 0: 1, 2: 0) at the Nürnberg Ice Tigers, the capitals are clearly on Play- off course.

The Düsseldorfer EG, however, suffered a small setback in the fight to move into the hot season. The Rhinelander had to admit defeat at Schwenninger Wild Wings after extra time 2: 3 (1: 0, 1: 2, 0: 0, 0: 1), but at least took one point with them.

The DEG (38) remains fifth, one place and three points behind the fourth play-off rank. Schwenningen (41) occupies this in the south group.
