Mannheim, the last champion before the corona pandemic, prevailed 3: 2 (2: 0, 0: 1, 1: 1) at the Nürnberg Ice Tigers five days after the first defeat of the season and is still ahead of co-favorites Red Bull Munich , who won 6: 4 at the Schwenninger Wild Wings on Saturday despite a 4-1 deficit.
Krefeld lost 2: 5 (1: 3, 0: 1, 1: 1) against Eisbären Berlin and after eight games this season still has not a single point – as the first club in league history. The polar bears claimed third place in the northern group with their fourth win.
In the 100th duel in the DEL main round with Nuremberg, it was the Adler’s eleventh victory in a row. Jason Bast (4th) and Felix Schütz (12th) brought the Mannheimers, who lost 3-1 to Schwenningen in the south-west derby on Tuesday, 2-0 lead in the first third. Chris Brown equalized with a brace (27th and 45th). Nico Krämmer ensured the decision with a converted penalty (52nd).
After just eleven seconds, Kris Foucault scored the Berlin 1-0 – after a catastrophic defensive error by the completely overwhelmed Krefeld. Kristofers Bindulis equalized again (16th), but then the guests met at will: Leonhard Pföderl (18th), Giovanni Fiori (20th), Parker Tuomie (24th) and Lukas Reichel (46th) shot the safe Success out.
