In the best foreign film category, two films with a Belgian touch are in the running. The first is the Tunisian film “The man who sold his skin” in which Koen De Bouw plays the leading role. The film is inspired by the work “Tim” by the Belgian artist Wim Delvoye.
The drama is about two engaged couples who are torn apart by the Syrian civil war. She is forced to marry a rich man who takes her to Brussels. He wants to go after her but sees himself obliged to have his skin tattooed and to be used as a work of art to get to Brussels.
