mThe Manjummal boys are continuing their triumphant journey by changing ‘all the scenes’ of the movie Layala and changing the records. Chidambaram’s film, based on true events, achieved many box office records. Now Manjummal has achieved a huge record in the history of Malayalam cinema. Manjummal Boys has entered the 50 crore club at the Tamilnadu box office. The film collected Rs 50 crore from Tamil Nadu in 24 days. This is the first time that a Malayalam film has earned 50 crores from Tamil Nadu.
Released on February 22, the film has earned around Rs 180 crore globally. The plot of the movie is that a group of young people from Kochi reach Kodaikanal as part of an excursion, and the events they have to face there. Chidambaram has also written the screenplay of the movie. The film is produced by Soubin Shahir, Babu Shahir and Shaun Antony under the banner of Parava Films. The story unfolds in the backdrop of Guna Cave. Soubin Shaheer, Srinath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathy, Lal Jr., Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Deepak Parambol, Khalid Rahman, Arun Kurien and Vishnu Raghu are playing the lead roles.
The film had crossed a milestone not only in Tamil Nadu but also in Karnataka. After 23 days of its release, the film had collected Rs 10 crore from Karnataka. Manjumal Boyz is the first Malayalam film from Karnataka to earn more than 10 crore rupees. With this, Manjumal Boyz is on the second position in the list of highest grossing films from Tamilnadu box office in 2024. Sivakarthikeyan starrer Ayalan topped the list with a collection of 54 crores.
